“It is an impressive theme. However, characters settings are not convincing, would you explain them again?”Film producers have answered without any hesitations to judges’ questions. They are already experienced filmmakers who participated in shooting overseas. They suggested alternatives. Therefore, their introduction of projects have finished successfully. 6 producers are AFiS students who have participated to the 22nd Busan International Film Festival(BIFF)’s Asean Film Market Pitching, on Oct 16.

Last October, Busan Film Commission has opened AFiS to foster producers with international business minds. This year, AFiS has participated in BIFF to present their projects that they have prepared so far. 20 trainees from all over Asia presented 6 projects out of 20 on the market and 14 projects were shown in LINK OF CINE-ASIA which was held one day earlier. Pitching is to show producers’ filming schedules for investment companies which is the plan on making a film. 20 AFiS students who were picked winning 5.7:1 competition, will finish 1-year-process and graduted on Oct 27 for the first time.

The project subjects were diverse; ‘On the Deck’ about water taxi drivers, ‘White Gold’ about accident in Busan village, ‘Heli; The Daughter’ about Srilanka women rights and ‘K-POP Auntie’ regarding a filipino woman dreaming to become a K-POP star. All these projects bring out lots of expectations.
